Laughter really is the best medicine, especially when it comes to the winter blahs. Give yourself a dose by attending the 13th annual Laughing Ladies and Merry Men’s Luncheon on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from noon-1:29pm. Enjoy a delicious lunch and a lighthearted musical performance by the delightful Righteous Mothers.

The Righteous Mothers use humor and their original tunes on contemporary topics to reach people and make them laugh! Packed with mind-blowing, intricate close harmonies backed by strong, lively and varied instrumentation, and sprinkled with fun, off-the-wall choreography, their performances routinely elicit tears and laughter. This hilarious event is only $40 per person, which includes a lunch that will warm you to your toes and ends with a tasty dessert! There will also be art for sale, raffle prizes of all shapes and sizes and more fun surprises. As we’re sure you’ve noticed, there is a slight increase in ticket prices this year, which will help cover rising venue and food costs. We just can’t party like its 2003 (the last year our ticket price increased) anymore! Of course you’ll be happy to know that all the funds raised at the luncheon benefit Allied Arts cultural programs.

About the annual Laughing Ladies and Merry Men’s Luncheon

This is one of the most looked-forward-to events in Yakima, entertaining 600+ community members while raising important funding for Allied Arts community programming. Is the economy causing you pain? Bad weather giving you chills? Broken resolutions getting you down? The Laughing Ladies and Merry Men’s Luncheon is Allied Arts’ antidote to winter woe. Held on or near the “most depressing day of the year,” the luncheon is an Allied Arts fundraiser that has been beating the winter blues since 1997.
